AVG Cleaner App Reviews

The AVG Cleaner is great at handling cleanup of multiple kinds of files, but I think it would be better if it instructed layman users like me about the risks involved with deleting certain kinds of files. Duplicates are also identified and it’s awesome tbqh, very useful if you’re like me - multiple cloud accounts saved onto one laptop etc., etc.,

This application didn’t just delete duplicates, I made the mistake of trusting this application and now a ton of my music is gone. Make sure you spend a ton of time going through what it chooses.

I would ususally clean up files manually, but this application makes it so easy that there is no point in doing it myself. Furthermore, I’m utterly suprised that this application is not bloatware.

It works very well for my Mac. Clean the useless stuff quickly and run fast. Very useful app!

It was simple and easy before the update!

App is dead to me now. This used to be a handy way to clean up the disk, but now it requires an account so the app can upload data about my machine to some cloud Zen something. While I can see some admins may like that to keep track of multiple Macs, it should at least be an option to skip creating an account.

I suddenly need to create an account to use this program? If I wanted AVG’s “Zen Network Account” I would have already signed up for it! It’s a shame because I liked AVG Cleaner.

Still the same clean and easily understood app. Like I said, I’ve used all the competitors and this is by far the best of the whole lot. My Macbook now performs like it did when I first took it out of the box. Remember that clean, just out-of-the-box smell of that new laptop…..you can get that performance back. Easy to use, cleans what you want and doesn’t remove stuff it shouldn’t. Great value, great app.

I will not be using this anymore as well, as it now requires an adittional acount to use.

Just removed the App. Liked the old version. Not the new version.

cmon AVG you can do better than this! crushes every time I launch the app!

The new update bring back the excellent App for the same way it was before.

There is nothing deleting and clearing your cash better than the AVG Cleaner and the accurancy of finding all of such duplicated files are systematically authenticated by AVG in order to provide you the most accurate determination about whether to delete them all or not. This product was needed and AVG Made it possible. I recommend AVG Software in the case you have many duplicated files in your Time Capsule, MacBookPro, MacBook Air or iMac system creating and useing so much memory from your disks.

It deletes caches and other miscellaneous junk as well as duplicate files just fine, but but it wont duplicate folders.

AVG unexpectedly deleted files in categories that I did not select. System files? I pray not! In any event, now I cannot put them back, because this program does not have a log file or the ability to back out of mistakes. Perhaps I misunderstood the interface? Or maybe this freeware has not been sufficiently thought-through. This is a warning to any potential users - FIRST create a backup of your system (CCcloneer, etc) and then be absolutely clear on the operation of this poorly documented software PRIOR to use.

It can delete caches and logs files, however UI is not friendly for user. I can’t understand some part of UI.

I only tried the duplicate finder functionality. This application won’t win any awards for it’s UI but it does what it says and you can use it to clean up the duplicate files (all kinds of files) on your computer. Considering it’s free I’m giving it 4 stars. I wish you don’t have to register but oh well, everyone loves to collect email addresses.

Not sure what happened but after scanning itunes, it came up with duplicate songs and I carefully deleted the extra copies. I tested with just a few songs. AVG Cleaner put them in my trash (good) but when I emptied my trash, ALL COPIES of the songs were gone. At least it was free and I can re-download my songs but I had to uninstall.

I work on both Macs and PCs and was expecting this to be another run of the mill CCleaner wannabe. This however was not the case. The AVG Cleaner provides smart options that are more geared towards eliminating clutter to optimize performance rather to free up disc space. I.E: The cleaner doesn’t simply wipe every log and history for every browser and program, but rather clears the clunky caches that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to eliminate. I’ve gotta say I’m very pleasently suprised. I’ll definitally be recommending it to anyone looking to polish their Mac’s performance.
